Marcin Tomkiel in a jacket and tie among tall dry grasses on a dark stage

“Forest Road 8995” is an object-theatre piece with live music, built on poems from Malika Tomkiel’s collection “Wbijam kij w mrowisko i zataczam nim koła” (“I stick a stick into an anthill and draw circles with it”). In the credits I’m listed under multimedia engineering. My part was the grasses – a mechanical installation on stage. Marcin Tomkiel described the show as “a non-linear journey into the human being […] among mechanical grasses and a living city”.

It premiered on 12 October 2025 at the Białystok Puppet Theatre, together with the launch of the book. On 29 and 30 November 2025 it played as a guest production at the Jan Wilkowski School Theatre of the Theatre Academy’s Białystok branch.

It’s an independent production, made with an artistic scholarship from the Mayor of Białystok and support from the Białystok Puppet Theatre.
