“Misja Genetyczny Bliźniak” (Mission: Genetic Twin) is an interactive film-game I made in 2012 to get people to sign up as bone marrow donors. Instead of watching another campaign ad, the viewer gets a mission: help a student find his genetic twin – the stranger whose tissue match is close enough to save his life. The story branches depending on the choices the viewer makes.
It stars Maciej Tarasiewicz and Ula Walesiuk. The film has its own YouTube channel; the first episode, “Początek” (The Beginning), went up on 6 November 2012 and has passed 90,000 views.
Before that: Bone Marrow Donor Day
It wasn’t my first go at the subject. A year earlier, in November 2011, I made a short video announcing a Bone Marrow Donor Day “for Grzegorz and others” at the Faculty of Architecture, Białystok University of Technology. The “genetic twin” idea was already there.
