A white Macintosh 128K built from LEGO bricks with the rainbow Apple logo; the screen shows the number 12044, with a stormtrooper minifigure standing beside it

A brick-built version of the original 1984 Macintosh, with a real screen inside. I built the first version in 2017. It started with a small display hooked up to a Raspberry Pi and wedged into a frame of colourful bricks.

Then came the case in white bricks: the Macintosh shape with a recess for the screen, the floppy slot and the rainbow Apple logo. The Raspberry Pi sits inside.

The screen ran Chromium with a page that received live data through Syncano messages. I showed it in my “Lego ❤️ Syncano” slides from April 2018, together with the Millennium Falcon. In 2022 I built a newer version of the Macintosh with a working screen.
